New Year, New Blog

So it's officially 2012, and I have to admit that I am feeling very overwhelmed by the thought of the many 2011 events that I haven't blogged about yet. I've decided that I'm not going to do individual posts for everything like I was planning on. Instead, I'll do one "catch-up" post on the main events!
I have made it a goal to do better on keeping up with posts this year, we'll see how that goes! Anyway, look forward to some awesome (condensed) posts of some great events, including our family being sealed in the San Diego Temple, Isac's blessing, Isac meeting his namesake Isac, Isac's three month check-up, Christmas, and adorable pictures of our sweet baby boy!

San Diego Zoo Part One!

We went on our first family vacation!! We went to the San Diego Zoo! It was a lot of fun, although there was a lot of walking. We got to spend quality time with our Rogers side of the family. Here are some of the great pictures we got.

Visiting Daddy's Work

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but Brandon has an awesome job! We are so blessed that he has the opportunity to work in such a great environment, with such great people.

Brandon is just the proudest dad you'll ever see, and so of course he has a bunch of pictures of Isac on his desk at work. All of his coworkers wanted to meet Isac so badly! Finally this last Tuesday Isac and I went to visit Brandon at work and meet all of his work friends.

It was great to see where he goes everyday, and to meet the people that he spends his work day with. Isac did so great, and everyone just adored him! It was a special treat for Isac to see daddy during the day, and he just soaked it up.

Isac's One Month Check Up

Isac had his one month check up yesterday! He is sure growing up. It's funny that as his mom and dad, we don't really see it happening because we're with him everyday. His grandparents, aunts, and uncles can see it though. They are constantly telling us, "Wow! He's getting so big!" Well, they're right. One month stats:

10 lbs. 0 oz.
22 & 1/2 inches

Just so you don't have to do the math.... He not only gained 2 lbs. 7 oz, but he grew 2 inches! In only 27 days!!

He also got a shot today. He did so great! It was just sad as a parent to see him crying. Moreso for Brandon than for me. Like I mentioned in a previous post, Brandon held him while they drew blood, and I think he was as upset as Isac was. They have a very special connection. Seeing someone poking our son with a needle, kills him! Isac was really very tough, and calmed down within a minute or two. He was also only a little bit cranky last night, so that was nice for me!

Newborn Pictures

Last Saturday (September 3, 2011), when Isac was only 5 days old, we were able to get some wonderful pictures of him! Kevin Beeson, the amazing photographer that he is, really helped us out! Here are some of our favorite shots.

We are so fortunate to have a friend that is willing to share his talent with us! We have some great photos of Isac that we will cherish forever. Thanks KB! :)

Life as Parents!

Our life as parents has been interesting, to say the least. We have loved every minute of it. We were able to take Isac home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

We were fortunate enough to be able to stay at my parents house for the first few days after we were discharged from the hospital. My mom took a few days off of work to help us out. Brandon was also able to take several days off of work to stay home and help take care of Isac! Being at my parents house was especially helpful the first couple of nights. My mom was a great help! She would take Isac into her room and take care of him at night. When he was hungry, she would bring him to me, I would feed him, and she would take him back with her. Being able to get some sleep was amazing!

We officially arrived at Isac's first "home" on Monday, September 5, 2011. I have to admit that our first night alone, went exceptionally well! I think we'll be able to get the hang of this parenting thing afterall. ;)

Baby Boy Gets Bloodwork

We had to take Isac in to get some bloodwork done. It's the same test that they do in the hospital, it's apparently a state-wide thing. Anyway, we had to take Isac in to get his heel pricked for a "second newborn screening", and watch as they squeezed blood from the little hole. It was so sad! He did not like it one bit! He was a tough boy though, and we are glad to know that he is okay. :)
